Why Join MACAE?
As a member of MACAE you will have opportunities to network with your
peers on a variety of subjects ranging from job opportunities to best
practices. These include networking with members involved in the adult
education environment to keep current on trends, research, and developments.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in thought-provoking
conferences and forums. You will have the opportunity to share ideas
and activities with other adult educators. And you will have the opportunity
to participate in threaded discussions
As a member of MACAE you will also have access to publications that
enable you to learn and grow in your field. The Update
is a quarterly newsletter of ideas, reviews, opinions and articles related
to the various facets of adult education. While Practical
Thinking, a journal of critical thought, is a collaborative
venture with the Minnesota Independent Scholars Forum that is published
three times a year.
As a member of MACAE you are invited to attend events designed to encourage
professional development among membership. MACAE’s yearly Fall
Conference provides workshops for professional development. MACAE’s
Issues Forums explore current and emerging issues and trends that affect
adult education, adult educators and students. In addition, MACAE’s
Book Connections are scheduled three to four times a year to review
and discuss books related to adult learning.
As a member of MACAE you will have access to organizations affiliated
with MACAE such as the Missouri Valley Adult Education Association (MVAEA)
and the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE).
These organizations also offer educational, professional and individual
development to those in the adult education field.
