Minnesota Association for Continuing Adult Education

Adult Education Week: Plan, publicize, and promote this annual event supporting lifelong learning in Minnesota.

Archives: Help develop and maintain an archive of MACAE history—oral histories, papers, other records—and make it accessible.

Awards: Solicit nominations and help select MACAE honorees as outstanding adult educators, programs, and contributors.

Book Connections: Choose relevant titles, select discussion leaders, and organize three to four book discussions per year.

Conference: Plan annual fall conference: develop theme, prepare call for papers, select presenters, publicize, evaluate.

Greater Minnesota: Promote MACAE statewide by addressing concerns and sponsoring events outside the Twin Cities.

Issues Forums: Identify timely topics for discussion; organize and host three to five Issues Forums per year.

Legislation/Advocacy: Work with existing groups or organize members to track legislation affecting adult and continuing education.

Marketing: Promote MACAE by identifying strategies and potential partners.

Membership: Process memberships; handle requests; produce and distribute annual directory; staff booth at events.

Monograph Series: Identify potential topics and writers; serve on editorial board and market publications.

Newsletter: Produce four Updates per year—gather ideas, write and/or edit articles, help with layout and distribution.

Nominations: Assure our leadership by securing officer and board candidates and conducting elections.

Technology: Offer members ways to learn about technology in adult ed; advocate for  appropriate use.

Website: Help improve our website and keep it up to date.
