•Missouri Valley Adult Education Association (http://www.mvaea.com/) The mission of MVAEA is to serve as an instrument of cooperation among individuals and organizations which are engaged in (or interested in) any phase of adult education within the Missouri Valley Region. MVAEA is an affiliation of seven states: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

•American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (http://www.aaace.org/) AAACE provides leadership for the field of adult and continuing education by: expanding opportunities for adult growth and development; unifying adult educators; fostering the development and dissemination of theory, research, information, and best practices; promoting identity and standards for the profession; and advocating relevant public policy and social change initiatives.

•Minnesota Independent Scholars Forum (http://www.mnindependentscholars.org/) MISF has a three-fold mission to benefit and support: The Scholar: to promote free inquiry and encourage research, writing, and publication of original work toward the advancement of science, arts, and the humanities; Scholarship: to support scholarly journals, independent publishers, and all rightful means of sharing information through a diverse and liberal blend of libraries, bookstores, and computer access to the Internet; and The Common Good: to share benefits of independent scholarship with all citizens without regard to privilege or power, in or outside institutions of higher learning.

•The Mentor: An Academic Advising Journal (http://www.psu.edu/dus/mentor/) The Mentor is a free electronic publication about academic advising in higher education. The goal of this journal (available only on the Web) is to provide a mechanism for the rapid dissemination of new ideas about advising and for ongoing discourse about advising issues.

•Minnesota State Legislature (http://www.leg.state.mn.us/) This government site features links to the Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives; searchable databases of statutes, laws, and bills in progress; Senate and House schedules; and other information of interest to adult educators.

•Commission on Adult Basic Education (http://www.coabe.org/) COABE advances national and international adult education and literacy opportunities for all persons, provides leadership in advancing the education of adults in the lifelong learning process, advocates the development and dissemination of publications and research in adult education and literacy, and conducts and sponsors professional development conferences and other activities.
